Good morning! A lot is on my mind today.. as I had a dream that took me back remembering the tough times where I was a single parent for almost a year back in the early 90’s. I caved in because of what others wanted. I had no identity. I thought I was doing right by my child, yet for myself, I did more harm with loosing myself. I pressed through another 20 plus years in that relationship with what I could do to make the best decisions for my children and the marriage.
But the dream reminded me, I can NOW choose for myself. I could have done this all along. My child would have been just fine, but I see now I mainly went back to a comfortable state of mind and relationship due to my own insecurities of not wanting to be alone. I don’t know who this is for today but know that if You are in a toxic environment whether it be with work, family or friends, know today there are people and organizations willing to help you. I didn’t know this back then. In the 90s we were afraid to to go against traditional upbringing and let people know our business.
We can’t go back to mistakes of yesterday but press forward to promises of tomorrow. You have a choice to choose who gets on your train ride with you. If he/she is not going in the same direction, then it’s okay to boldly and fearlessly tell them to simply get off and you keep focusing forward!
