So….. did you realize that Mexicans specialize in more than tacos & fajitas? Six years ago I went to Miami and had this Cuban sandwhich that was similar to the Mexican torta I had here in Greenville a few years back. For some reason, I had a craving for it over the last couple of weeks.
So I pulled up and walked straight in to order my food. And a beautiful young porcelain skin teenager greeted me with her smile. (Which got her a tip upon exciting!) She and a few of the young guys knew exactly what I wanted. It was the Hawaiian torta. Strangely that I’m partial Hawaiian I was craving this meal.

It comes with cheese, ham, pineapple, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and guacamole. (I omitted the jalapeños ) It was so delicious!!
I did order the french fries. But I was a little disappointed because they were skinny like McDonald’s, but they wasn’t crispy but warm. ($1.99) And the size that I got, It was not worth the two dollars I paid.
However, the Hawaiian torta was everything I wanted, and it definitely filled my taste buds complete. The size portion is huge so of course I could not eat but only half the sandwich. It looks like mayonnaise is also put on the sandwich and it makes it juicy. The bread was very tender and moist and all the flavors in the sandwhich worked well together. ($8.99)
I love the hibiscus flavored water too. ($2.75) Everytime that I get Mexican dishes and it’s offered, I try to get that as my drink selection. It’s Very refreshing!

For dessert, I chose the flan. ($4.00) It’s a creamy Carmel custard with caremel juices soaked in the bottom of the container to dip each bite! It’s a favorite and not too sweet but touches the right spot for your tastebuds after a meal. It woukd be great served with warm coffee too.
I definitely will be back sooner than later to try some of the other Mexican dishes they offer. My daughter is married to a Mexican and I have three Mexican grandchildren, so I want to learn about the culture and the different flavors of food that the Mexican families serve.
The total of my meal was $19.15. I was very pleased with the food & drink, with the exception of the McDonald look-alike french fries (lol)
The price of food in this economy stage of living has gone up so high. However, the price is comparable and similar to what prices are today in restaurants.

If you ever travel through the Berea Hispanic community area this location is in the shopping center right off Whitehorse Road behind the McDonald’s & Waffle House in Berea. They even have a sidebar with a lot of trimmings that you can add to your meal as complementary choices. The service to go was on point, and quick.
This may be my new favorite Mexican restaurant
